Polaris Interview Experience - Chennai , July 15, 2014
I would like to share my interview experience at Polaris , Chennai. Hope it will be useful.
On July 12, I had PAT (Polaris Aptitude Test) at Navalur branch. It was quite easy for me. It had 50 questions (25-Apps & 25-Verbal and Non-Verbal). Most of the questions in apps were from R.S.AGARWAL's.
I'm really thankful to IndiaBix, for being a great guide for me in the verbal and non-verbal parts. The questions for synonyms and antonyms were asked from this site.
The test span was 1 hour 10 mins. Out of which I was able to complete verbal and non verbal parts within 15 minutes. As soon as I completed my test and clicked the submit button, my mark was displayed.
The cut-off to clear PAT was 30/50. To my happiness,I cleared PAT. Then I was informed that the further process of interview will be informed later. Then I got a call from the HR dept that my Technical HR interview will be held on July 15.
It was the day and I went to Polaris at 10 a.m. I was said to go to the particular building, after completing the initial formalities. It is a must for everyone to have a govt ID proof.
I was taken to the particular floor. I asked the officials about the HR, before going inside his room. They gave me a clear idea about him and his type of interviewing. I was called in!
Me : May I come in sir?
HR : Yeah please.
Me : Good morning sir
Hr : Good morning Nisha. Please take your seat.
Me : Thank you sir
(He introduced himself. Only then I came to know that he is the Delivery Director of Polaris)
Hr : This is a small intro about me. Now tell me about yourself Nisha
Me : said
Hr : Your have mentioned your main project in resume. Have you done any projects other than this?
Me : (I never expected that question. But I managed it with my mini project done in 6th sem)
Hr : Say me about your experience during in-plant training at BSNL and KaaShiv Infotech
Me : Said
Hr : Tell me about your journey in music
Me : (Said about my skills in Keyboard and about being a chorister)
Hr : Have you achieved any levels in keyboard?
Me : Yes sir. I have achieved 5th grade
Hr : Good. So.. You were the Placement Representative of your class. Tell me about the programs u've organised
Me : Said
Hr : What are you doing all these days after completing your degree?
Me : Sir I'm doing a course in Java.
Hr : Good. Can you tell me the standards used in programming?
Me : (Asked him to explain the question so that I don't misunderstand it)
Hr : ( Explained it very clearly)
Me : 1. Declaration of variables 2. Formatting (alignment) of statements 3. Exception Handling
Hr : ( Looked satisfied ) Being a fresher in ECE , how do you think that you will suit Polaris
Me : Sir, I've got a moderate knowledge in programming,an adequate knowledge in banking and good interpersonal skills which are the three basic utterly required skills for Polaris. Hence I'm sure that i will suit Polaris.
Hr : Ok Nisha. Do you have any questions?
Me : (After a little thinking) Sir, what kind of projects do u work for , at Polaris?
Hr : Said
Me : Ok sir.
Hr : Thank you Nisha. We'll let you know
Me : Thank you Sir. I'm looking for a positive response.(I didn't complicate this by bluffing )
Hr : Yeah. Ok.
Then after half an hour I was informed that I was selected. Thank God! Such a great moment that was , after waiting for months since my degree completion to get placed. The main thing checked at Polaris is your communication skills. Be bold, look straight and answer confidently. Success is yours!
I thank everyone who directly and indirectly helped me achieve this. Hope my experience would be useful to all those who read.
