MPHASIS -Interview Experience NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 19, 2014
After the ppt, the first round was a HR + Tech round. The recruiter may ask technical or not its up to him. Basically it was to check your confidence and communication skills.
When I went in, the person was quite cheerful as he asked me to sit and offered me a sandwitch.
After that he asked me to introduce myself.
Then he took up my hobbies(cricket) and told me to explain the last match I had seen in 3 minutes.
I explained each and every thing and then he asked me questions on SQL.
Just 2 questions - ACID properties and difference between truncate delete and drop.
Then he asked me if I was happy to relocate.
Then I asked him a few questions - Like what is your name.
Other opportunities [DON'T EVER SAY NO IN ASKING ANYTHING. ALWAYS ASK SOMETHING WHEN TOLD TO AND BE INTERACTIVE WITH THE HR].
I cleared that round and the next was the VERSANT test.
This was a tricky one.
I was given a sheet that had 6 rounds. I was to engage on a phone with a computer voice from the other end.
The sheet had some sentences and instructions which were to be spoken loud and clear on the phone when instructed to.
The main click is catching the tone and accent of the various people (aussie, carribean, british).
As the call proceeds, it gets a bit tougher main focus is just be clear in whatever you say for the computer to interpret.
50 was the clearing marks with max elimination in this round.
I got a 73 and I got selected :-).
Only the extreme dumb ones would be rejected in the first one. Main focus is on your communication skills and confidence. And don't ever lie to the HR. He will catch you.
Don't panic in the versant test, you do tend to miss out on few words. BUT just be calm:-).
ALL THE BEST.
