MindTree Interview Experience - Vizag, November 2015
After getting good score in AMCAT all the shortlisted candidates had to go through the coding exam. The coding exam had 2 questions to be solved. The language one can choose here is C or C++ or JAVA. I choose C. There were 2 questions, one was a pattern question and the other was to a mainly a loop based question.
I just executed one program and compiled the other program with no errors. In the evening I received the call letter for the interview. There were 2 rounds of interview.
From my college around 50 students were shortlisted for the interview. First prepare the two programs you got in your AMCAT exam. Trust me guys they will ask those two programs only. Even if you didn't execute in AMCAT exam, be prepared before attending the interview. In my technical round they asked me to explain programs I got in coding test. I explained each and every step and convinced him. (In our drive 60% of interviewers asked AMCAT programs in coding test so prepare well) and have good knowledge on at-least one object oriented programming language C++ or JAVA. Mindtree Mainly concentrates on Java.
Then, he asked about my favourite subject. I said Database management system. Then he asked some of the questions in JOINS, NORMALIZATION, Transactions, ER diagrams etc. He totally convinced with my answers.
After that he asked about my hobbies, short term goal and long term goal. I said my hobby is maintaining a BLOG. He was impressed then he asked about my blog. I explained him. Then he asked about my college and some questions on project which I mentioned in resume.
Technical round was completed around 5 pm and we are told to wait for HR. For me, HR was not conducted so I thought I was not selected. Around 7 pm they announced results and finally I got selected.
Only two students are selected without attending HR, luckily I was one of them. :) I received offer letter on the same day. :)
46 students are selected out of 250 students. All the best :) :) Hope my experience will be helpful to all who aspires for the job in Mindtree. See you guys in mindtree :)
