MindTree - Visakhapatnam, December 9&10, 2014
I am Dilip kumar naiko. I am from Lendi Institute of Engg & Technology.
I have written AMCAT Exam and got good scores in that like in Aptitude- 86%, Logical reasoning- 97% and in Eng- 94%. Though I got less marks in Computer programming and Technical. I was shortlisted for attending the MindTree interview. The interview was held in GVP in vizag.
The interview pattern will be as follows:
1st round - Programming Test.
They will give two programs for us to write in C and will give a span of 1hr. We Must execute them.
2nd round - Both TR & HR will be a single round.
Now coming to my interview, almost from 7 districts who got passed in AMCAT about 500 people came there.
Our 1st round started at 11.00 AM. In this round never think that you will get ordinary programs like Prime, Armstrong. Etc. For the given programs I got only one output and the other one is given on pointers and structures concept. So I didn't get it. Out of all the 500 students only 2 got both outputs and 50 or so got single output. As per circumstances so he considered AMCAT scores tooooo. And I cleared the 1st round and about 150 people got shortlisted for the 2nd round.
At about 6 PM or so 2nd round started and I was in the first 30 members who have to attend the TR & HR that night. I was called for the interview at 8.15 PM or so.
I was well prepared for the questions like "tell me about yourself and so". As I entered the room the TR come HR is so friendly and straight away I was asked about MindTRee. I said about 7 point or so and soon he stopped me asking about me and my parental background. Later he asked me a program to write in C, about separating primes, evens, odds from a array of numbers. I was pretty good in writing programs and he asked me to explain it. I had explained him. My feedback from him was that I was very good in academics and technical. I was also communicating well but a small shivering in my throat was observed by him asked me to read newspapers and so. I told him that I will avoid this when I come to your company and I said it confidently. Then we were asked to come on the next day for results.
When we attended the next day, they said that the ones who are good at technical and some what lagging in communication are called for a HR again. So I was also called for that.
I attended the HR round and the HR was a tall lady looking beautiful and has a large tattoo on her arm. I was some what panicked on watching her.
She welcomed me with a smile. I was a short guy and some what looks like a kid and straight away she asked me that how old are you? I answerd 21 and she asked me whether I was really 21. And I said yes. Now after this all the nervousness I got went a mile away from me.
She asked me questions like 1. Why MindTree? 2. Why Engineering? 3. What is success? for the third one I answerd by taking a quote from Kalam that success is when your signature becomes autograph. She was impressed by my answer.
Later she asked about my hobbies and so on. The HR round was very funny. She asked me of having water because I wasn't able to talk as I was full of cold because of late last night travelling to vizianagaram. I said no thanks and explained the reason for my throat. It took about 20 minutes for my HR. I was confident that I will get the job after HR.
Later came the results and 45 were selected out of 150 and I was one among the 45. I can't forget that day as I got my first job into my hands.
Never lose confidence when you are rejected by someone. Because everyone has a day. To crack this MINDTREE prepare on C only. Need not think of any other programming languages for ECE and EEE background. For CSE and IT they must prepare other languages too for the TR.
Thank you and ALL THE BEST EVERYONE.
