SATYAM PAPER - 17 FEB 2007 - TIRUPATI
Rated : +0 , -0
Hi Friends Am Nagpavan recently (17-18 feb,2007) attended Satyam offcampus at Srividyaniketan Tirupati, Andrapradesh. The first round was the written it consisted of 15 Aptitude questions with 30minutes time. Every correct ans carried 1 mark and wrong ans was awarded a penalty of -0.25 marks The cutoff was 6. anyone with basic aptitude knowledge can easyly ans. 7 atleast correctly. totally abt 900 attended 285 cleared written test 53 cleared group discussion 23 cleared HR interview and were selected with a package of 2.5 lac per annum I just wrote written and didn't attend G.D as I was already placed but I also got the topics of GDs from my frnds and put it over here THE MAIN SUCCESS SECRET TO GET THRU WRITTEN HERE IS SEARCH FOR THE EASY ONES AND DON'T GET STUCK UP TO ONE QUESTION ITSELF ALSO NEVER GO BY THE MYTH "LENGHTY QUESTIONS CONSUME LOT OF TIME" SOME LENGTHY Qs R VERY EASY ALSO BE SURE OF THE ANS AND THEN ONLY ATTEMPT OTHERWISE U WILL BE ON THE LOSING SIDE The questions were 1) find the next no. in series: 70,80,90,84,96,108,98,112,126,112,128,? ans:144 for three nos grouped there is a common difference between them the diff between 70,80,90 is 10 the diff between 84,96,108 is 12 the diff between 98,112,126 is 14 the diff between 112,128,? must be 16 so ans is 144 2) if an account amounts to 8640/- in 3yrs compounded annually at 20% interest. find the actual amount deposited. ans:5000/- sol:we know as it's compounded annually so A(amount)=P{1+(R/100)}^n where P is the principal or the amount actually deposited, R is rate of interest and N is the time so substitute A=8640,R=20,n=3 the ans is P=5000/- 3) if 168 men can build a wall of 3150mtr long in 36 days;then how many men r required to build a wall of 3900mtr long in 24 days sol:1 man can build in one day {3150/(36*168)}part of the wall so let x men be required to build 3900mtr in 24 days so x=(36*168*3900)/(3150*24)=312 4)if the ratios of speed of A and B is 4:5 and A takes 20minutes more than B to cover the distance then how much time does A take? ans:as they both cover the same distance so let Da=Db =>Speed(a)*time(a)=Speed(b)*time(b) =>4x*Ta=5x*(Ta-20) =>Ta=100minutes 5) if half the salary went for charity, 1/4th for rent, 1/5th for other expenses and the rest saved. wat part of the total salary is saved? ans:1/20 sol:let total salary be x then x=x/2+x/5+x/4+amount saved =>amount saved=1/20 6) if 5yrs back A was 3 times as old as B was; and 10 yrs back B was half the age of c was. wat is the relation between A and C age let their present age be A,B,C resp. so (A-5)=3(B-5) and (B-10)=(c-10)/2 solve these both eqns and u get A=(c/5)+6 7) wat r the no. of words that can be formed from 'ALTERNATE' such that both the Es are not together. sol: the no. of words such that both the Es are not together=total no of words that can be formed by the word 'ALTERNATE' - the no of words oth the Es r together. so now total no of words that can be formed by the word 'ALTERNATE' is 9!/(2!*2!*2!) the no of words oth the Es r together=8{7!/(2!*2!)} now subtract the second one from first and u get the ans. 8)find the no. in place of ? ? 394 506 172 218 284 74 94 120 160 ans:904 sol: simple just add the two nos. below any no. and add another 4 to them u will get the upper no. (74+94+4=172, 94+120+4=218, 120+160+4=284, 172+218+4=394, 218+284+4=506)so ans is 394+506+4=904 9) if i) 1/a > 1/b, x>0 ii)a>b, x>0 { am not sure whether this is the exact question or not is a^x > b^x but it was almost similar to this one } a) i) alone sufficient b) ii) alone is sufficient c) both r required but only one of them is not sufficient d) both r sufficient individually and not togetgher e) none 10) 4 figures r given in succession and u need to find which is the fifth figure fit to be in the sequence(easy) 11)very easy the question is like this: if 1 can be written as # and 0 can be written as % and some data was given only to scared u --------- and after that they gave some examples to explain the theory as 1 is written as # 2 is written as #% 3 is written as ## 4 is written as #%% then wat is the LCM of 20,30,36 sol) very easy just look at the examples they r nothing but binary numbers but instead of writing in 1s and 0s they were written in #s and %s i.e. 2 in binary is 10=>#% 3 in binary is 11=>## 4 in binary is 100=>#%% so LCM of 20,30,36 is 180 so binary of 180 is 10110100 so ans is #%##%#%% 12) a question on different books, authors and owners r given and some points r given u need to find the ans.(trust me this was the easiest question all u need to do is just draw a tabular column and fill in the details and u will get the ans. it takes only a minute, answer was shastri is the writer of maths book) 13) a passage is given and u have to choose the correct conclusion or derivation. 14) another reasoning problem The GD topics r : * terrorism * is group discussion necessary for freshers or not. * ragging * at a critical position will u atempt a suicide or be murdered * is defence a right carreer for women or not * role of youth in india to eradicate corruption * 75yrs vajrothsavalu-did they achieve the goals or not * KBC is money making or not * present cricket team * is politics there in sports * freshers prefer brand name or money * illiteracy, unemployment hand by hand * role of media on public |
