INFOSYS Interview Experience - Madurai, September 9, 2015

Hi, I'm Karthik from Madurai.

IndiaBix helped me a lot in my interview preparation with Infosys, I'll help you guys from my side.

2 rounds.

1. Online test by Infosys.
2. Tech/ general HR.

ONLINE TEST consist of 3 sections,

1. Reasoning -15 questions -25 mins.

Syllogism - 5 questions.

Data interpretation (graph, bar chart, or table) - 5 questions.

Data sufficiency - 5 questions.

This round is not really tough, you should know how basic syllogism should be solved, only prior practice can help you. Four syllogism groups will be given and you need to find the group (s) that are actually correct.

Data interpretation questions will be simple with ratios and percentages comparing two different years.

Data sufficiency is really easy, simple twist, try solving tough questions from this section, so info questions will be easy for you (more on equations, numbers. ).

Try to get at least 10 to 11 questions correct in this section, that is more than enough. Sectional cut off is there. So try getting minimum marks in all the section.

2. Aptitude -10 questions -35 mins.

Puzzle-5 questions. This one will be toughest part of info, I guess. It s a kind of arrangement question, . But questions based on that arrangement part will be really tough. I don't get answer for any questions. So practice a lot in this section. Try solving GRE, GMAT type of toughest arrangement questions.

General apti questions: number series -1 question.

Cryptarithmetic - 1 question.

Other 3 questions from probability, permutation combination, allegation and mixture.

If you are good at solving apti, then this is just a cake walk. But if you are not good at it, try solving the tough questions and understand the concepts foremost, . On apti. Crypto takes more time. You can solve only if you had practice. Series will be moderate.

I felt this section tough because I'm bad at apti. Try to get 6 or 7 questions right.

Try solving the easier one first and then go for the toughest problem. So you can get enough time to solve the problem. Concentrate in this section if you are bad at apti.

3. Verbal 40 questions -30 mins.

This section is not really tough as others say, . They'll not ask GRE level tough questions.

Actually the questions will be simple. But confusing. It needs the basic understanding of English. If you are good at English, then this will not be really tough.

Sentence correction-7 questions.

Insert correct phrase - 7 questions.

Fill blanks - 8 questions.

Theme detection -5 questions.

Reading comp-1 (small) -5 questions - tough.

Reading comprehension -2 (big) - 5 questions -easy but takes more time.

Frankly speaking one cannot complete this section, so you need to go for the one which you can answer easily, theme detection, fill blanks, will be easy. And error correction will be moderate, simple but confusing, all the answers will look in shuffled type, which shows all are correct answers, reading comp takes more time. So try at last, go for the questions and then look for answers.

Most rejections happen at the first round, if you are selected in your first, you'll be almost selected (around 85% will be selected) in second round, so if your dream job is info. Then practice it before you attend the test, last min practice will never help you.

2. Technical interview/general HR:

I'm from mechanical dept, and it is based on your panel whether they ask you programming related questions or not, if you are from non cs/IT then, you ll asked to write some prog from basic C, for cs and IT, they'll have questions related to their subjects.

Again it depend on panel you enter, for me. They haven't asked any program, he just asked me all the questions from my resume. My areas of interest, latest technology, my project, and general HR questions like why info ? why from mechanical ? (get good answer for these questions).

Mine was very simple. But for some they asked the basics questions of their core like free body diag from my core. And again depends on panel. Even if you don't know, you just try to solve the program, they just check for your communication skills, I'm not threatening you. But I wanted to say luck also favors in these type of interviews to decide which panel you are going.

Finally, I got selected and I'm INFOSCION now (happy to write because whenever I read interview exp, everyone concludes with this. ) I wish you all good luck :).
