Hello friends,

I am Sweta Tiwari. I attended the Infosys pool campus drive at PSIT, Kanpur on June 23, 2014 and was interviewed at NIEC, New Delhi for the same on July 03, 2014. Given below are the details of the Infosys Selection Process in my case..hope it helps!

The Infosys Selection Process consists of 2 sections:

1. Online Test.
2. Technical / HR Interview.

1. ONLINE TEST :

>It Consists of two parts:

(a). APTITUDE TEST:

Questions: 30
Duration: 40 minutes.

(b). VERBAL ABILITY:

Questions: 40
Duration: 35 minutes.

> The Aptitude reasoning test pattern is distributed into 6 different topics with 5 questions each as:

(i). PICTURE REASONING (5 Questions):

In this section, a series of pictures are given which may consist of picture series, picture analogy or picture classification.

(ii). STATEMENT REASONING (5 Questions):

In this section, sequence questions like seating arrangement or money distribution or height arrangement are given. A set of five questions are based directly on the statements given.

(iii). DATA SUFFICIENCY (5 Questions):

Here a set of two statements are given followed by 5 options which satisfy the answer for the statements. You have to decide which option best suits the answer.

(iv). DATA INTERPRETATION (5 questions):

This section consists of a direct sequence of 5 questions based on the data which is provided in the form of table charts, bar charts, pie charts or line charts.

(v). RELATION PROBLEM (5 Questions):

This section consists of questions which are similar to the sets and relations like students with biology, maths, physics and chemistry, maths and biology, only physics, etc., and questions related as such.

(vi). SYLLOGISM (5 Questions):

This section consists of statement followed by two conclusions. We need to pick out from 5 options which suits the best answer.

> The Verbal Ability test pattern is distributed into 5 different topics as:

(i). SENTENCE CORRECTION (8 Questions):

Among 4 sentences the correct one should be detected.

(ii). INSERT CORRECT PHRASE (8 Questions):

Underline a part of sentence and asked to insert correct phrase in it from given four options.

(iii). FILL IN THE BLANKS (8 Questions).

(iv). THEME DETECTION (6 Questions).

(v). TWO READING COMPREHENSIONS (10 Questions, 5 from each).

> The key is to score well in this online test because it acts as a filter in the case of the Infosys Selection Process.

> Out of 350+ students, 63 and only 2 from my college made it to the Interview round. The results of the Online Test were announced on the next day itself i.e. June 24, 2014 and the it was notified to us through an e-mail that the interviews will take place at NIEC, New Delhi ten days later on July 03, 2014.

2. INTERVIEW :

>The key for interview is to maintain your calm, be confident, justify everything written in your resume in a positive way and yeah wear a sweet but not an annoying smile during interaction with the interviewer. :).

> In my case, interview was a bit tougher because the students who have cracked the online test from 3-4 pool campuses apart from mine were also present.

> At first, they asked us to submit our year wise mark sheets of the degree, 10th and 12th. The application form and the resume were stapled together with them to create a well formed application to be presented before the interviewer.

> The students were then divided into several groups and were allotted several panels by the volunteers.

> My turn came at around 12.30 pm. I entered the room with a smile and greeted the interviewer.

1. He asked me to introduce myself which I did nicely.

2. He asked me my hobbies to which I replied Reading Novels, Travelling, Charity and volunteering for a better India. He appreciated me saying that it's a very noble thought.

3. He then asked me to explain any one of my projects as an answer to which I explained my Internship project as the others were simple academic projects and that was the one in which I worked real time as a QA member for a startup in Mumbai.

4. He asked several queries like which language I have used, what was my task in the project and which server was used to run the scripts.

5. Then he said that he is done with the questions and asked me if I had any questions for him. I asked two questions:

(i). What are the things a fresher should learn before joining Infosys to which he replied 'everything you can think of in programming and non-programming because once you join Infosys, there is no time to learn and you will be expected to implement things then and there'.

(ii). The second question was regarding the future programmes at Infosys regarding higher studies aid and opportunities. As an answer to this question, I was referred to the H.R.

> I had to wait around till 5.45 and then the lady HR. answered my queries in a very detailed way.

> The results were announced on July 06, 2014 and I was the only one from my college to get selected.

Though it's long but it contains all the details of the process. Hope it helps you people!

See you at Infosys..Mysore Calling.!! :D
