Infosys Interview Experience - Hyderabad, April 17, 2014
Infosys recruitment has 2 rounds. A Written test and An Interview.
Infosys written test is not easy to crack but no worries:). It isn't impossible.
It has two rounds- verbal ability (40 ques) and logical reasoning (30 ques).
The main thing is to manage the time especially in verbal section. How fast you can read, understand, analyse and apply the questions is what matters as most of the questions are lengthy and complex. Best part- no negative marking.
And then interview.
You may have heard that if you clear written then its over. You are 90% an Infosian.
But my advice is not to think like that. Better take it seriously because sometimes all those things won't work.
Coming to my experience.
Interview started with tell me about yourself as usual. And was stopped at the beginning itself then all questions from my resume. (Am from IT dept).
My paper presentation, explanations and details of both mini and main projects, code in main project.
What is C language?
Pointers in Java.
SDLC in SE.
Network topologies (I told and he asked what's the topology involved in the arrangement of systems in this room).
About my co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
Inheritance and types (both in java and c++).
Differences between procedural and object oriented languages.
Is java pure object oriented? and Why?
Write code to find total no.of legs if there are 7 bags, 7 cats in each bag and each cat has 7 kittens. (of course I didn't do that:) but tried to do. Which has taken much time in my interview).
Finally he asked whether I have any questions for him.
I asked him whether any fresher should learn anything before getting into a company. And he said. Attitude is what matters. Till now you have been learning lot of things since your childhood. We are here to analyse whether you are capable of demonstrating the things perfectly. It least matters whether you give the correct answer or not but do you have the interest to learn the things is what important.
A firm shake hand and a smile. Its over.
I got placed!
Off campus. 4 colleges. 1200 members. 48 members and 9 from our college, Sree Vidyanikethan. Cleared written.
Finally out of those 9 members, 4 got placed.
Nothing to worry. Don't get disappointed. Or stressed. Be cool while taking the exam.
My suggestions are:
1. Time management is important.
2. Better to take the comprehensions at the end.
3. Practice online tests.
4. Be serious in preparing for the interview as its better to prepare for the worse however it's not a very tough task to crack it. (generally it is said that only HR will be there but you know I was asked TR questions also) (prepare for both HR and TR).
Finally I would like to thank my HR. He was very cool.
Thanks to Indiabix. This is a very good site.
ALL THE BEST!
