INFOSYS Interview Experience - MATHURA, Sep 20th, 2011
Let me share my experince with you ...
INFOSYS visited our campus on 20th september , we were instructed to report at 8.30 sharp in the morning of 20th and being the first company for us our nervousness and anxiety was so obvious , Everyone was there before 8.30 and were asked to sit in the conference hall and here begins the show...
Mr Amit cruz(not very sure about surname) was the anchor of the campus drive conducted by Infosys, he was an awesome man to watch he began with PPT which was having brief history and some facts related to infy though it was not boring at all but the video they showed us in the end was real pleasure for everyone over there it was all about the mysore training centre of infosys and i am damn sure you must not have seen such a beautiful working place ever before, it motivated all of us to do our best in written which was going to held in few moments.
Before leaving the hall we were given hard to believe instructions from our college managment...they planned seating arrangement for written test , it was really a killer for most of us over there all most all of our plans got vanished by tht moment.
But what could be do we simply moved to our corresponding classes and sat at our respective seats there were no of supervisiors came with infy team so it got almost impossible to take anyone's help during written test..
First of all we were given the "LOGICAL REASONING AND ANALYTICAL ABIITY " paper
we witnessed slight change in the pattern
1-5 Odd one out of the five figures[ Easiest to the one's I had done ever before]
6-10 Puzzle[ Difficulty level was moderate]
11-15 Data Sufficiency[ Bit difficult ]
16-20 Puzzle again[ Surprised as we were expecting Data interpretation but tht puzzle was easiest ]
21-25 Syllogism [ Very difficult or you can say confusing 2 of them were ambigous]
26-30 Puzzle[ Most difficult puzzle i ever witnessed , couldnt do nything of it]
As the time went over we were given the second test paper"VERBAL ABILITY" and so called determining factor
Time - 35 mins
1-7 Choose the correct sentence[ difficulty level : 7/10]
8-15 Improve the sentence[ difficulty level : 7/10]
16-23 Fill in the blanks[ difficulty level : 6/10]
24-30 Theme detection[ difficulty level : 5/10]
31-35 Lengthy but easy comprehension [ difficulty level : 5/10]
36-40 Short and easy comprehension [ difficulty level : 5/10, I was so lucky it had done it some where before it took 5 secs for me to mark the answers]
Books suggested : Logical reasoning ==> RS Agrawal
Verbal Reasnong ==> RS Agrawal Objective English(Practice as much as you can)
Then came the waiting time...we were instructed to report at 1.30 pm in the conference hall and as instructed we gathered but we kept waiting for the results but there was no info abt it then at last at 4.30 our T nd P incharge came nd announced the first list of shortlisted candidates only 25 students were there and unfortunately i wasn't among them then began the real tension i cant explain the feel I was getting at that moment it was 5.30 pm then came the 2nd list of 25 students as the names were being announced i was getting down and down and i could believe that last name of 2nd was Shashank shrivastava i couldnt control my feeling even my eyes got wet and mine best friend was also having watery eyes it was exceptional feel unique to everyone and a further list ws announced having anly 17 students and then it all ended for the results.
All the shortlisted candidates were asked to sit in another conference hall for some sort of document verification thereafter interviews were started there were 7 HR panels and parallely interviews were going on i was alloted panel no -6 , i got to go for interview at 7.30 pm .............
I entered the room
Me: good evening sir
Sir: Godd evening have yor seat.
he then asked for my resume ...i simply forwarded it him.
HR: So, Shashank tell me something about urself
Me: told as i prepared it .
HR: plzz tell me something more about you tht i have to enforce myself to take you in.
Me: ( not feeling good at all ) told him some of my strengths.
HR: ok...but i am not convinced tell me something more.
Me( was getting tensed): told him some of my good experiences where i ws appraised for my doings.
HR: Ok, shashank plz speak for 2 mins on this AC remote which was placed in front of me.
Me: told whaetevr ws coming in my mind.
HR: hmmmm, Explain this stapler too...
Me: did tht too..
HR: shashank plz make something relevant from these 4 letters ( R V O G)
Me: made word from each of them and constructed a sentence .
HR: Make one new sentence
me: made new sentence with new words but with the same letters.
HR: Thanku shashank you may go now.
Me: Thanku sir gud evening.
interview lasted for 15-20 mins
then again arose the same situation of waiting for the results..but this time i wasn't too much nervous...At 11 pm finally the moment came when Mr Amit cruz came with the final list of students who got placed at infosys..and i was lucky enough to get my name in that list.
That was the best moment i have ever lived in my life..I was among the 64 fortunate students of my college in all 520 sat for placements in Infosys.
Only the students who lacked at their communication skills didnt make it in interviews....
All the very best guys for your future....
