IBM Interview Experience - TCE, Madurai, Sept 4, 2014
Here is the Selection Process:
1) Online Aptitude test.
2) Business Communication Test.
3) HR Interview.
This test was held online. No negative marking.
There were 18 questions from series and 18 questions from General Aptitude. You have only 2.15 minutes to answer every question. So be fast. Answer the question before the timer goes to 15 seconds, because there may be a time lag to send your answer to the server(max of 5 seconds lag). Series filling had these type of questions:
Ans: (Divide the 3 elements into one group ) 3+7=10,8+4=12,0+5=5,so 3+2=5 is the answer.

General Aptitude questions can be solved easily.
syllabus: Equation forming, Time and Work, Trains, Ratio and Proportion.
I strongly recommend that there is no need to study any books for aptitude. You can refer the important formulas given in RS Aggarwal. Again there is only 2.15 minutes to solve each question. No negative marking.
Over 220 students attended the test and only 51 were selected for next round.
2) Online Business communication Test:
You have to answer 22 questions in 20 minutes. No negative marking. There will be no timer in screen. So please wear any digital watch.
Syllabus: Active voice to passive Voice, Business letter formats, Direct to Indirect Speech, Tenses and Punctuation

3) HR Interview:
Once you clear the Business communication test, then there is 95% chance that you will be selected. IBM HR's are very good people. They will test only the Communication skills, if you are good at communication, then HR interview is a Cake for you.
Interview was held on the next day at 11 am. He asked to self Introduce and then came to my project. He didn't ask any questions from project and asked about my strength. Once I told my strength, he asked for an example. Then asked "why you want to join IBM?". Told. These are some ready-made questions, so you can prepare well before the interview. Don't let your confidence down. If you are wrong, don't go away from your words. Finally he asked "Will you Relocate?"(Expecting for it). Answered. He told to leave the room.
Results were announced in the Guest House and I was in the list of Selected Candidates. 14 were selected out of 16.
(In fact, in the interview, 3 students did not communicate well in English, the HR given another chance to perform in the interview. HOW GOOD THE HR's ARE!!)
More over, I was previously rejected in TCS, Accenture. So Don't let your confidence down.
