Hi There,

This is Soudip Here to share idea about the Placement paper and Interview Experience and how to crack them.

Firstly I get The news of HCL Off-campus drive through my college. They said I have to Register through Aspiring minds (AMCAT) Exam.

1 month after Registration I get a mail from Aspiring Minds with hall ticket cum Admit card attached to it. Since I am an outstation Candidate and I don't have time to reserve my seat I traveled in unreserved coach of train...really painful.

It was Eastern India's full off campus so nearly 1500-1800 candidate was there.

The selection Process were as follows:

1. Aspiring Minds AMCAT.
2. 1:1 Interview/Technical GD.
3. Technical Round (1:1).
4. Human Resource Round (1:1)/(2:1).

The whole placement process took 3 days to complete. There is huge elimination in each round.

1. Aspiring Minds AMCAT.
On 26th of August ...I had an online test on AMCAT

There were four sections.
(Coding, Quantitative, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning, Communicative English)
Time is allocated for each sections and you can take 1 and 3 minute break between each section.

You cannot change module and cannot skip any question.

There is no negative marks but don't think to play with your anticipation.

The coding part is about to predict errors or estimate the correct outputs.

This module consists of 25 questions. Duration is 35 minutes.

Coding are done in platform independent method so you can guess the answer by your mastery of language. there are also question from data structure. I felt it a bit difficult but don't worry.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~keep calm and be a warrior not a worrier.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quantitative:
This module consists of 14 questions and duration 14 minutes.
Time is key in this sections. You have to manage your time to answer this module.
-> problems on Numbers.
-> Ages, Profit n Loss.
-> Permutations & Combinations.
-> Chain Rule, Odd man out  Series.
-> Probability .
-> Simple Interest.
-> Percentage.
-> Pipe & Cistern.
-> Boat and streams.
-> speed and distance.
VERBAL & NONVERBAL REASONING:
This module consists of 16 questions and duration 16 minutes.
It was very easy. You can answer within the time. ....Topics were.
-> Syllogism.
->Blood Relations test.
->Seating Arrangement.
->Direction sense.
->Logical Sequence of Words.
->Coding decoding.
Communicative English:
This module consists of 18 questions and duration of 18 minutes.
Topics were ..
->Spotting Errors.
->Ordering of Words.
->Completing Statements.
->Idioms and Phrases.
->Synonyms.
->Antonyms.
->One Word Substitutes.
->Analogy.
->Sentence Correction.
->Ordering of Sentences.
->Comprehension,.
->Ordering of Sentences.
R.S. Agarwal is great for this.
next day(5.00am) result announced by tele SMS of your no.
Please Retain your AMCAT id for future use.
Next day we were asked to report at 8.30 am with interview call letter.
HCL personnel gave a wonderful ppt presentation after that they decided to skip round 2
because there was a huge elimination done by AMCAT almost 500-600 were passed.
There were almost 30 HCL Personnel so it was not a problem to conduct 1:1 technical interview.
Skip to round 3:
The technical guy was very friendly he wished me and give a handshake before I Wished him.
Don't get nervous be polite with the interviewer. Puzzle you can practice by George Summers book. keep a smile on your face. (so many student were eliminated in this round)
Around 200 students were left for the HR round.
HR Round:
This round is also to check your communication skills and your mind stability that how you think if any problem is given to you and its all about how you handle the situation.
After 3 days I got a mail ("Congratulation!!, Welcome to HCL").
Don't lose heart if don't get in various companies before (I failed some 20's apti test) always think that they don't have that kind of potential to harness your power.
That's all.
Thank you.
