Cognizant Interview Experience - VIT university, Vellore, 01/09/2015
Selection process includes:
1. Written Test.
2. Technical Round.
3. HR interview.
On 1st Sept. We had written exam, more than 3000 student appeared for exam. Exam was conducted through out the day in different slots. Written exam was too easy as it was from AMCAT. There were around 25 question of quantitative ability each carries 1 marks with no negative marking. Mainly questions were from TSD, time and work, permutation & combination, numbers theory etc.
English was very easy (16 question 16min).
Logical reasoning was moderate level (14 question 14min).
You have to manage your time in each section.
The result was declared on the same night itself around 9 pm. More than 1500 students got selected for Technical round.
On 2nd Sep. Technical and HR round were conducted. CTS called me for technical round at 1pm after 4 hours of waiting outside, some person from CTS called me for technical round.
Me: Excuses me sir, may I come in?
Tech: Yes, sure. !
Me: Thank you sir. (still I was standing).
(he asked me to sit).
Tech: So Rohit, tell me about yourself?
Tech: Had your lunch? and what did you have?
(he was very kind).
Tech: What is inheritance in java? (and 1 or 2 question from OOps) easy question.
(I've mentioned xml and php in my resume so he asked some basic ques, he didn't asked me any question out of my resume).
After around 25: 30 min. Interview ended.
And he asked me to wait outside.
After waiting for another 1 hour result were declared and I got selected for HR interview.
HR: Hello how are you? how long you have been waiting for interview?
Me: Answered this question in funny manner. (after that he started laughing and offer me juice, though I didn't drink it but it was a great scene for me).
HR: Why did you choose MCA over MS?
Me: Told with some past example.
HR: What's your hobbies?
And yes that's it. HR round was around 10: 15 min.
And now I'm waiting for results that will be declared on 16th sep.
My suggestion to all of you that just focus on written exam. And prepare your resume with 100% truthfulness because they are only asking question from your resume. If you have some technical knowledge then you'll easily clear tech round.
All the best.
