Cognizant Technology Solutions Interview Experience - Coimbatore, September 8, 2014
There were 3 rounds,
1. Written Test.
2. Technical Interview.
3. HR Interview.
Coming to the Written Test, it was conducted by AMCAT (Aspiring Minds).
It consisted of three sections,
1. Verbal (25 questions - 25 minutes).
2. Quantitative (16 questions - 16 minutes).
3. Logical (14 questions - 14 minutes).
First we had PPT for around 2 hours, in which the details of the company were explained.
Then the written part is important as it is an elimination round,
You'll have to concentrate mainly on it to get through, a good knowledge on the English language will be of real use to get through verbal section.
Some of the topics that were covered in verbal are.
* Reading Comprehension (2) It was not so tough, relatively easy.
* Fill in the blanks (Articles, Preposition etc).
* Error spotting & correction (Subject Verb agreement).
* Synonyms & Antonym (Get well versed with frequently asked questions).
Then in quantitative section it was enough to be familiar with the basic aptitude formulas and also on basic number questions.
In logical it was mostly coding-decoding, statement and conclusion.
Around 400+ candidates cleared the written out of 1100.
We were asked to assemble at 9 A.M and then we were taken in batches for the interview process.
First they conducted the Technical Interview and HR was also conducted in parallel.
In Technical Interview most of the emphasis was laid on Projects and the Papers that were mentioned in the resume and also basic C programs were asked. For CS/IT students the concentration was mostly on core basic concepts.
My technical interview,
He greeted me and asked me to take my seat.
Her asked me to introduce myself.
He interrupted me in the middle and asked me to explain my paper.
He had a lot of questions for me in my paper and I explained it to him very clearly.
Then he asked me to resume my self intro and I completed it.
He asked me about the OOPS Concepts, I explained it and he told me to give the logic for programming using polymorphism.
Then he asked me to write a program for Transpose of a matrix.
I tried it a bit and said to him that I couldn't recollect it properly at that particular moment.
Then he asked me the logic for Fibonacci and Factorial and I explained it to him.
I was done with my Technical Interview and I was asked to attend the HR interview.
Around 100 students were eliminated in the Technical round.
In HR interview, very basic HR questions were asked. They asked for acceptance with relocation and willingness to work with any domain.
My HR interview was a bit different,
We had a very casual talk and he gently introduced himself to me and said that lets have a different interview like you will ask me 5 questions and I will ask you 5 questions alternatively.
I asked questions like Work Culture, Career Growth & Co-Curricular activities in CTS.
Then he asked me few questions like,
- What is the biggest blunder or mistake that you have done in your life?
- What is the toughest period of your Engineering?
- What responsibilities have you taken and how did you manage in accomplishing those?
Relocation and any domain compatibility was asked.
Only 20 students were eliminated in this round, Communication and English fluency plays the major part here.
You just have to stay focused and patient to get through the process.
