Accenture Interview Experience - Chandigarh, Sept 13, 2014

Hi everyone.

I applied through AMCAT and based on the scores, I was shortlisted for the Accenture off campus drive that was held at Chandigarh university, Mohali. I was allotted 11:30 AM slot. But when I reached there, I found that it was rather on first come first serve basis. I got my batch no. From the registration desk.

We were given 2 forms that we had to fill (one EAF and other CHECKLIST) and submit those alongwith all the copies of documents in a certain order as told by them. These documents included:

1. Resume.
2. Copies of all marksheets{10, 12, B. Tech).
3. Copy of photo ID proof.
4. Slip provided at reg. Desk.
5. Hall ticket.

After submitting all these, we were told to wait in a hall. After waiting for 2hrs, they announced names forming groups of 10 students each. Then they split the group into half (5 each) and assigned us to a interview panel and we have to wait for our turn. In between I came to know that there would only be one round i.e. HR+Technical. There were a huge no. Of students, that might be the reason that they took both the interviews simultaneously.

Then we were given a break for 45 min. For having lunch.

Now it was our group's turn. The 5 of us got into the room and seated accordingly. We wished them and they asked if we've had our lunch properly. Then they introduced themselves. There were 2 interviewers - a mam from HR field and a sir from technical field. Then they asked us to introduce ourselves. 2 were from CSE background and 3 (including me) were from ECE. He asked us about any subjects that we were comfortable with. Both of the 2 ECE guys replied Microprocessors & Microcontrollers. But I said Digital Electronics. He then started asking questions:

HR: Which microcontrollers you have studied?
Both of the ECE guys told 8051, and 8085, 8086.

HR: What is the function of accumulator?
They told.

HR: How do you add 2 no. In microprocessors?
They told.

HR: which language do you use for writing programs in 8085?Can you write instructions to add 2 no?
They told about the language used but couldn't write program.

Then he looked at me and asked:

HR: What is Digital Electronics?
Me: Told.

HR: What are truth tables and why do we use them?
Me: Told him that these are tables which take binary input and produce result according to a logic function. They are used to realize Logic Gates.

HR: What are logic gates?
Me: told about various gates and their logical operations.

HR: give an example where these are used.
Me: I said in flip-flops.

HR: What is a flip-flop and give its practical application?
Me: Told.

He then turned his attention to the CSE guys. He asked the girl about her favorite subject and she replied maths. He then asked:.

HR: What is a G. P. ?
She told.

HR: If I give you a series like 1, 3, 5, 7, . What kind of series would it be?
She told that would be an A. P.

HR: what is the formula for sum of n terms of G. P. ?
She told.

HR: In the series given above find the 293th term?he gave her a piece of paper.
While she was solving it he asked if any one of us could tell the formula for the same?

I replied. By the time she had already solved.

Then he looked at the other CSE guy and asked his field of interest, He replied Automata. The interviewer asked him of any other subject but he insisted for the previous one. He then asked about it. The guy told something and said it's related with discrete maths.

The interviewer then asked what is discrete maths?

Also he asked for any practical application of automata.

The guy replied washing machine.

The interviewer then asked us how washing machine works. One of the ece guy replied that it works on fuzzy logic. He then thanked us for waiting for so long and we were done.

Then we were told to wait outside. After 15 mins, we were told that 4 of us (including me) cleared and are finally selected. They sent us to a hall where other candidates who have cleared the process, were present. After some time, one of their HR came and announced the names of all the candidates who were selected. He told us about the salary compensation, tentative month of joining, other formalities, etc and informed us that he'll mailing the offer letter to us in next 2-3 weeks.

It was a long and exhausting day but it was worth waiting for as I finally got selected.

Thank you guys! Have a nice time.
