|This world is a slave to leaders, we neither require managers (boss) nor the brain of Einstein. There is a little difference between the leader and a manager, the manager is a person chosen for his IQ by people above him but a leader is a person chosen for his EQ by the people below him.
A person with good IQ may lead him/her to a very reputed MNC, but they may be socially isolated if they have low EQ.
In real life always your healthy relationship with your subordinates, friends, family, and strangers will take you to a successful life.
I am not saying IQ is not important, but EQ must always predominate over IQ.
Its very well said, "give me a person with reasonable common sense and decency, I will make a leader out of him".

|A psychopath or sociopath can have a high IQ, and a low EQ. A high EQ it's equal with a mature personality; you are aware of your self, your reactions, your emotions, you have empathy for others, and you do your best in educating your own inner in order to live a valuable life and not hurt anybody. Also, helps you to take all the responsability of your own action. A high IQ helps you solve your problems in a quite short time, to find valuable solutions, improves your creativity, and participate in a efficient way to improve your life.|

It's a common perception that higher IQ tends to lower sympathy to others but this is a myth. A person may have both the higher IQ as well as higher EQ subsequently. For eg. Einstein was terrified about the human loss when US dropped the nuclear weapon in Japan. The corporate world is concern high IQ level is must. But at the same time, we can not neglect EQ good emotional quotient is also must for happier family life.

|Both emotional quotient (EQ) and intelligence quotient (IQ) is indispensable for developing the overall personality of an individual. But EQ has a little edge over IQ because IQ is dependent on EQ. No individual can take rational decisions without emotional stability no matter how much intelligence he/she possesses.|

|Both IQ and EQ are complementary to each other. A person having good IQ thinks logically and is not affected by other peoples emotions. IQ is cognition and EQ is affection. A person with good EQ thinks emotionally. A person having high IQ will not consider others interests and sentiments. This may lead to problems in group activity whereas a person with high EQ might be easily influenced by emotions and may not focus on work. So a balance of both is desirable but this happens hardly. A little of high EQ is good according to me.|

|I think both EQ and IQ have their own importance and people having a perfect balance of both is usually rare. But I think it is this disbalance that makes us different from others. People with very high IQ may tend to think always logically but their decisions may lack emotions. High EQ people may be good at understanding others feelings but at times may be driven away by emotions which is not always the right thing to do.
So I think a disbalance up to a certain extent is normal but it should not be large.

|Hello guys! What differentiate can be b/w two is when and where Eq is required and where Iq is required. Socially you need to be adaptive action of people in why that way is the Eq but that action is remain suitable or not is Iq. It's just like to give rewards or punishment as boss and also to get promotion or demotion as employee in professional life. In personal life to lead family Iq helps but eq saves the relationship.|

|IQ is what a person makes eccentrically smarter and cut above the rest, but EQ is what makes a person more socially acceptable with a peaceful life hence a successful person in his/her own field.
Suppose in a team, a person having high IQ always bosses around the other fellow teammates and deliberately trying to prove that he/she is the one who should be the smartest, then it is quite visible that the person has low EQ, which eventually makes him/her irritating and intolerable among the teammates and may even lead to failure or socially isolated. Well, he is somewhat like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory, if you guys have watched the series you would know it!
In my opinion reasonable IQ and more EQ leads a person to the pinnacle of success.

|Hi guys, first of all I would like to tell the definition of EQ& IQ. EQ means emotional quotient and IQ means intelligence quotient.
EQ mainly tells about emotions of a person and IQ tells about the intelligence of a person.
Everyone should have balanced IQ &EQ to lead.
Successful life. If one has high IQ and low EQ he will be happy up to certain time only because gradually he will be rejected by society because of his lack of emotions. If he has high EQ and low IQ he will automatically get IQ because of his emotions towards society. To be intelligent and emotion one should have to take care of both qualities. Then only we will be in others mouth.
|Naman Gupta said: (Oct 6, 2017)|
First of all, I would like to define what is EQ and IQ. Basically, EQ (Emotional Quotient) is the measure of your emotional skills i.e. how you control your emotions whereas IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is the measure of your intelligence i.e.how intellect you are.
Now talking about their importance, I think both are equally important. For getting success in life you need a great IQ whereas for holding that success, you need a strong EQ. High IQ can get you a good job but low EQ can get you fired. High EQ and low IQ is such that you can't even get a job.
But researchers have shown that IQ contributes only 20% to your overall success. High EQ will help in maintaining good social relations with friends, family, and colleagues and will surely boost your mental level. It is also found that low EQ person no matter how intelligent he is often suicides.
A person having less IQ but comparatively more EQ than a person with high intellectual level will often be more successful in life. So there is need to maintain a balance between these two to be a successful and respectful member of the society.
|Mukesh said: (Oct 5, 2017)|
First we need to understand that EQ (emotional quotient) is about feelings. It shows how a person can deal with his/her emotions. While I (intelligence quotient) is about brain. It shows your intelligence, knowledge and how good you are with your academics.
I believe that in this competitive world one should have higher EQ because competition is getting tougher day by day and many are committing suicide because they are not mentally and emotionally strong to handle such situation.
No matter how intelligent a person is, if he not mentally and emotionally strong. It will be difficult to get success in longer run.
|Priyanka said: (Oct 1, 2017)|
|I believe IQ scores limited nowadays. For a person to survive in this competitive world and to face challenges he must have good EQ otherwise he faces psychological issues and turns into depression. |EQ and IQ are like two faces of a coin, both have to be balanced in every individual to be successful. A person with high IQ and low EQ is just like food without salt (no taste). If you are intelligent enough but lack in collaborating with peers then you may not be a good team player, in another way around if you have good EQ but lack in intelligence then it hinders your ability to perform well.
It's impossible to clap with a single hand as its difficult to live with only either of EQ or IQ.
|Aditya said: (Sep 11, 2017)|
|EQ or Emotional Quotient may be defined as a person's ability to express emotions and IQ or Intelligence Quotient may be defined as a person's ability with the brain. In my opinion, both are equally important in life if one has to become successful. Having an extraordinary ability to think i.e. IQ will not ensure that the individual is a good team player, or that his/her relations with his/her colleagues are good enough. Similarly only having a good EQ score does not prove a point that a person will excel in life. So a balance is definitely important.|
|K.V.Prathyusha said: (Sep 10, 2017)|
EQ and IQ are inseparable.
Discipline, Mannerism, and Attitude can frame EQ. By making these functions work together will make one's EQ good and can cross many obstacles in life in a very pleasant manner.
Through Intelligence, Knowledge, Ability, Will power, Dedication and Self-interest its possible to achieve desires and with this a person is motivated through appraisals, awards, rewards etc. To all these main roles is IQ.
More EQ - - -> Pleasant surroundings (people with us give good respect).
More IQ - - ->Creative minds (Technology development, Nation growth).
Thanks Have a great day.

|EQ or Emotional Quotient is defined as an individual's ability to identify, evaluate, control and express emotions. People with high EQ usually make great leaders and team players because of their ability to understand, empathize and connect with people around them.
IQ or Intelligence Quotient determines one's academic abilities and is determined by several standardized tests to assess an individual's intelligence. People with high IQ gain success in challenging task and has the ability to analyze how to approach towards a goal.
So, both EQ and IQ is necessary for a successful person. A person with high IQ and low EQ can innovate but will not be able to manage different people around him and vice-versa. Thus, there should be a balance between EQ and IQ.
|Mohit Purbey said: (Aug 31, 2017)|
I also think both EQ and IQ is necessary. Because a person with high IQ but low EQ can create and innovate but can not make rationale decision let's not forget the incident of hirosima and nagasaki. The same is in the case of High EQ but low IQ a person can make rationale decision but can not innovate and create. So, Both is necessary rather than one.

|I think IQ and EQ play a very prominent role in our personal as well as professional life. We need to maintain a balance between the two because if we are having good IQ but our Eq is weak then we might not be able to deal with people in a better way as we would not understand what they want from us. Similarly, having lack of IQ.
Is also not good as would not be able to get desired results in various domains of life. So I conclude that both IQ and EQ are equally important to become a successful person as well as a better human being.

Today the trend has been changed for a job, why? because all company wants to the growth his company, so those people who have a better EQ means better leadership quality, handling the situations and emotion easily, they preferred him first but it doesn't mean IQ is not important. IQ is also one of the important parts for getting a job, suppose you don't get better knowledge than you rejected first because the company has some criteria for applying the job. At last but not least I can say that IQ and EQ both are interrelated to each other for being the life too much good.|

There are some situations in our life where we have to use our IQ n some other situations where have to our EQ only. Using former in place later sometimes become dangerous.
So one learns to maintain a balance between these two. And they should learn in what situations they have to use their IQ n what situations they have to use their EQ.

EQ builds strong relationships and IQ builds strong professional life.

According to me, IQ is important than EQ. For Ex: If a person does zero emotions then zero enemies so he can develop in his professional life. Not only enemy point of view. If a girl leaves a boy then the boy has emotionally attached towards that girl then his life may become spoil. See emotions is just short period of time after that we are all forget that emotional matter then we all concentrate on actual work. Country like India, people are more emotionally attached towards their personal life according to me it is not required. They just concentrate on their professional life that will helpful to grow his life along with that our country will grow.

And another side IQ is depended upon one's knowledge, we see that any one gives repeatedly exam he/she always improves them self.

For an example a person is frustrated of his work and still he is hardworking to get a promotion from this post and here he is not exploring his frustration to his manager because he knows it will effect him only. Here the person is using his EQ as well as his IQ. Therefore here we can see that EQ and IQ both are important to us in all manner.

It decides our character and forms the basis of our image in the society. It helps to build reputation and impression in the society makes the life easier. On the other hand, IQ is equally important. Actually they are corelated. The success of a person directly depends on the two. IQ decides our intelligence capabilities. We use it in real life to take decisions, in solving the questions and in computations. It gives us the capability to come out from complicated situations.

Do you remember the everlasting debate topic Book Smart or Street Smart? Here all the book smarts will agree to IQ(Intelligence Quotient), which is the number derived from the standardized intelligence test, scores are calculated by dividing the individual's mental age with individuals chronological age multiplied by 100.
IQ represents abilities such as
->visual and spatial processing
->knowledge of the world
->working and short-term memory
All the street smarts will agree to the emotions intelligence which refers to the person's ability to perceive, control, evaluate and express emotions.
EQ represents abilities such as
-> Identifying emotions.
-> Evaluating how others feel.
-> Controlling one's own emotions.
-> Using emotions to facilitate human intelligence, social communication.
I prefer Emotional intelligence, It is no doubt individuals with high IQ perform well in the studies, accomplish things better but only high intelligence will not guarantee success in life. It is too narrow to fully encompass the wide range of human abilities and knowledge.
Research shows that people with great empathy, leadership potential, initiative, self-confidence show high EQ. They are able to handle situations better than the individuals with high IQ. People with high IQ may perform well in competitive exams but the individuals with high EQ will become Global leaders. Companies now mandate Emotional intelligence training and use EQ as the part of their hiring process.

For a person to be successful in his/her life both IQ & EQ are important. But In my view IQ is more important than EQ, because IQ is naturally we can't increase it (except few increment). But we can develop EQ by our daily struggle with different situations, analyzing the situation and by applying our IQ.

|As everyone says that IQ and EQ both should be equally balanced and also said that both are equally important but I prefer EQ than IQ because you can search on internet every entrepreneur who are famous on this time have high EQ than IQ. SO, if you want to work in a team (industry) then you should have high EQ while if you want to go for research like many scienctist then you should have high IQ. Both come in different scinerio don't compare it with each other. These are not complementry of each other these are only time dependent quotient. And these change person to person.|

I think that both EQ n IQ are important in one's life. Though they are required at different stages of life but still they are complementary to each other. If one goes missing then the other also looses it's importance. Here I would like to quote a line "A person with high IQ will get through school, a person with high EQ will get through your life".

|According to me, to be successful both EQ and IQ are equally important. Depending on the situation we should use our EQ and IQ. For eg- in business when we are taking decisions we should use our IQ, but when we are meeting our partners then we should use our EQ to maintain cordial relations with them. Without EQ we cannot understand ourselves and others also, we cannot maintain friendly relations, we cannot share our thoughts and knowledge with others i.e. a person without EQ is one who is isolated, who is not self-confident, who is not self-aware and who is not happy. Without IQ, we cannot think logically, practically and accurately. IQ is needed for making accurate decisions quickly. IQ helps us to think whether we have made correct decision or not based on our EQ. Thus EQ makes us become socialized and IQ makes us become smart.|

EQ is a natural traits that every human being have. It depends upon how someone uses to take right decision at right time. IQ is a bigger concept than EQ where we can do anything smartly by examine proper pro's and cons of any aspect to take necessary decision. That vary from person to person.
Conclusion - both are complement to each other we should both EQ and IQ to reach a desirable goal.

|Life success is a result of many factors. Both IQ and EQ undoubtedly play roles in influencing your overall success as well as things such as health, wellness, and happiness.
But moreover, EQ is very key to success because IQ is depends tests your knowledge capacity but EQ is evaluates your human relation capacity in different types of situations. So decision making is possible with EQ.
Finally, EQ is more important than IQ.

There is purely IQ because EQ is nothing but IQ. If a person shows EQ so because of his IQ as IQ teaches about EQ. When a team leader handles his team with EQ so at that time that leader uses his IQ to utilise his EQ/Utility. In other hand, when people show their EQ without using IQ so those people show their stupidity somewhere at that place. For an example: suppose there are two people one is an agent and second is a client and client shows his EQ before the agent for taking more and more concession and agent gives without using his IQ, then what will happen? that agent will bear that loss because of his lack of IQ.

|I think that both IQ and EQ have their own importance because we can use them in the right place where they can be used. If a person haven't any kind of EQ then he can't understand the feelings and emotions of others and if he hasn't any kind of IQ then we can't judge his ability to take any right decision it means when he hasn't any kind of intelligence then how he could take the right decision. So both have their own importance and both have necessary in the lives of people.

Well, IQ and EQ both are important for us. IQ stands for Intelligence Quotient and EQ stands for Emotional Quotient. I think they completing each other. EQ is the ability to think, understand and action to do but IQ is Intelligence to think in a higher level reasoning and problem solving. In each person's IQ and EQ are both needed. EQ is long lasting and it shows the attitude of a person, it helps to succed in life on the other hand IQ helps the person to decide logically, practically and also accurately. So, IQ and EQ both are nesessary become a successful man. I think both are common part of our life and if we ignore any one that's not perfect logic.

I appreciate to my all friends who told lots of thoughts of yours.
Well as we know that we all are human and we have one heart and one mind to use for works in your life. So as I think both EQ & IQ is most important parts of our life as we know that but sometimes we required one is more. Like if somebody has died and you met their family then there is the time to work of you EQ because without EQ you can not share those feelings. So EQ is best for that. And if you want to do something for them than your IQ is coming there that what you can do for them like some financial help. Or arrange some jobs/business for them. So the conclusion is that as per me EQ & IQ is a main for human life without one we can not live in our life or we can not enjoy. So both are good for us. It's a part of our life which is using in a different situation by you.

I think both IQ-EQ are important in our daily life. With IQ we can solve any theoretical problems in our life like maths or any puzzle. And EQ helps us to solve any emotional problems in our life. Nowadays most of the companies want a person who has both EQ and IQ. Because they have to work in teams and also have to do a smart work too. For teamwork he/she needs EQ and for smart work, he/she needs enough IQ. That is why in today's lifestyle EQ and IQ both are needed.

Well, EQ and IQ according to my knowledge these both are important to our life both personally and to our carrier side but comparatively I go with IQ Because We can't use EQ in all situations where we face problems in Such cases we should use our IQ to come over those problems.
On my point of view we cannot use EQ in business we should use our IQ to develop our business in conclusion EQ is Needed With the Join Hands oF IQ.

|EQ and IQ both of are like side of coin. In an office work you need to have EQ as well as IQ. EQ will help you to understand the situation and IQ will help you to understand the work properly to take any decision. To make own self a good leader you need both.
|Maneesha said: (Mar 17, 2017)|
|Hi friends, I am Maneesha.
My view is the level of EQ must be higher than IQ levels. Anyone can gain IQ levels through self-learning or refer some resources where we find less interaction with one another but in the case of EQ, it can't be gained from any books or anything else it should be practiced through experience which reveals that interaction is necessary. And the thing we need is proper interaction because unless one have pretty EQ levels a person cannot lead a good role in one's profession as the basement in every profession is to know what others want from the other. Understanding the problem statement in a crystal clear way gives effective output.

I think EQ and IQ both are important. But I prefer most EQ because if have IQ but not have EQ then you can't get success your carrier. With IQ you can get good percentage but can't get a good job and skill.
EQ play a very important role in life and career. If you have good EQ you can become a good leader, good team player and have the ability to control the situation.

|Hello friends, my name is Ashok.
All of our contestants well said about EQ and IQ, here I would like to add few points. In my opinion, EQ is more vital than IQ because the trait, which connects us from society is EQ Definitely IQ succors us tackling logical and brainstorming riddles but EQ initiates the process to involve ourselves with our colleagues which help to take organization's goal to a new height. So in my sight, EQ is dominant over IQ.
|Rashmitha said: (Mar 13, 2017)|
|In my point of view, both EQ and IQ are important because they are like two different sides of a coin EQ deals with our personal feelings and IQ deals with our intelligence, every organisation want to have such employees who can balance both in similar manner, EQ is required to work properly with his/her team, and to manage risk, stress and to move on with any kind of situation but I Q deals with ones intelligence I, e how well he/ she can perform in maths, logics, reasonings and he/ she manages the situation logically hence I conclude that EQ and IQ is essential In same quantities without EQ no IQ.|

I appreciate what you all guys thoughts. I want to add my understanding about EQ and IQ, Both are part of our mindset that play very important role as EQ is an expression or emotion that get triggers when we are having good IQ. Since IQ is totally a mental exercise on issue and problems, its a skill that helps in decision making, problem-solving basically a rational approach. Eg. When we solve a problem using IQ we feel the sense of achievement and happiness (EQ). So IQ is a trigger for EQ and vice-versa provided there should be the proper balance between them.

I respect the opinion of my friends regarding this subject. According to me, situation enables us to understand the value of IQ and EQ in our lives. A person's EQ gives us a partial view of his/her character. But it is IQ that reveals his/her knowledge. We, the people of 20th century are always determined to reach the highest level of success. Absurd emotion is odd with such ambition. A person without EQ behaves as an automaton. But a person without IQ becomes an object of ridicule.
Whenever we are in an interview or in exam hall our IQ dominates us to give our best. In business, IQ is quite important than EQ. But if we do business for business's sake, it may bring temporary success. Perfect balance of IQ and EQ is the backbone of perpetual success in business.
It is our EQ by which we can judge ourselves and prevent doing injustice to others. To enjoy our lives spontaneously we need both IQ and EQ. So, I support both IQ and EQ because the combination of IQ and EQ makes us not only a successful person, a good person too.

In my point of view, IQ is more preferable than EQ all human are emotionally more sensitive or less sensitive, But if a person is having low IQ and more EQ than in this current competing world he will not get inner peace. Also a person who has more IQ can think about his EQ level and he can manage tough situations with his IQ level.

What I believe is, Emotional intelligence is one of the basic requirement one need to have because only that can help you to understand your deep desires, yourself and others too.
Without EQ it will really be a tough task to choose, to grab the best for yourself.
Self-understanding comes first for any individual which can only be acquired through EQ.
If we know what we want only then our IQ plays a role. Hence on my scale, EQ is more important than IQ.

|Understanding Emotional and Intelligence Quotient.
According to some theories of brain function, a high EQ means someone is self-confident, self-aware, and able to handle difficult emotional experiences. It is often tied directly to the degree of success a person may have in the workplace and in personal relationships. People with high EQ can often better recognize and control their own emotions, and recognize emotional states in others to adjust their behavior accordingly.
A person's IQ, on the other hand, measures concepts like logical reasoning, word comprehension, and math skills rather than creative potential or emotional abilities. People with a high IQ may be able to learn certain subjects very quickly and make connections between ideas that others miss. They often have great academic success, although they may struggle to find classes that challenge them. The ability to acquire knowledge does not necessarily mean people can recognize and manage their own emotional states, however.
Correlations Between EQ and IQ.
There is a great deal of disagreement about any potential link between these two quotients; it is not clear if one indicates or has an impact on the other. Emotional intelligence is often more difficult to measure than IQ, and the methods used are fairly different, so it's not easy to compare them on equal terms. There are also many individuals with very high IQs who seem to be limited in terms of social skills and emotional recognition. Such examples suggest that they are different aspects of the human mind and should be considered separately.
Measuring EQ and IQ.
People have been measuring IQ for much longer than EQ. The first modern IQ test was developed in the early 20th century; although some aspects of emotional intelligence have been considered since that time, EQ tests really were not developed until the 1990s. Many modifications on these tests have been made since then, and there are competing models for how to most accurately measure these quotients.
An IQ test usually involves a set of standardized questions for which the test taker receives a score. This score is compared against the average scores of others within the same age range to determine a person's intellectual potential. These types of tests may have a cultural or language bias, however, and they do not indicate everything about a person's mind and functionality. For example, IQ measurements on most children with autism are typically very high, yet these children can have difficulties communicating with others.
An EQ exam is often more difficult to design and administer because it deals with information that is difficult to present as a numerical value. While an IQ exam may have one definitive answer for each question, EQ tests are usually more subjective and require a great deal of work to score properly. Short EQ tests can also be problematic as people may realize they are being tested on their emotional capabilities and adjust their answers accordingly. People might not answer questions truthfully, so results may become skewed by what the test taker believe the test giver wants to hear, rather than giving true responses to questions.
Using Emotional and Intelligence Quotient.
Once a person's EQ and IQ are determined, they can be used by employers and educators in a variety of ways. Many companies use EQ testing to gauge how well applicants will work with others on a team and their ability to deal with stress and emotional extremes. Teachers and counselors at schools can administer IQ tests to see if students are having difficulties in class due to being too advanced or behind when compared to their peers. EQ tests are often used in education to help identify those students who may need special assistance in learning to manage their emotions or to better communicate with others.
