Gitanjali was not a collection of stories - it was a collection of songs/ poems. He was given the Nobel Prize for Literature. He did not collect them but wrote them. The answer should be Salar Jung. He in fact wrote our National Anthem and also the national anthem of Bangladesh.

The Salar Jung family was a noble family of erstwhile Hyderabad state, India under the Nizams, who ruled the state from 1720 to 1948. They are also credited with the safeguarding of rare artefacts and collections, which are now at Salarjung Museum. Thus the valuable contribution of history.
