How to design a Voltage Doubler (electronic circuit)?
You can easily design the Voltage Doubler circuit by practicing the exercises given below. Here you can design and simulate your own electronic circuits with this Online Circuit Designer and Simulator.
This circuit uses some diodes and capacitors to generate 28 V from an 15 V input signal. The current from the input flows through the upper diode in one direction, charging the upper capacitor; the diode prevents the capacitor from being discharged when the input signal goes negative. The bottom diode/capacitor pair works the same way for the negative portion of the input cycle.
This circuit only works for higher voltages.. that is for greater than 10v.. if u check it for 1v.. it wont give higher voltage..

@Mubarak: Silicon diodes "open" at voltages between 0.6 and 0.8V. So both diodes will "eat" about 1.6V. If the input is below that threshold there will be nothing left to amplify.
